SIX BRICKS | GRADE R

Six Bricks is a hand- on tool for learning. It is a concept designed to excite and motivate young children in the classroom to learn the skills such as memory and recall, critical and analytical skills, gain knowledge in areas, which will eventually influence attitudes necessary for success in later life

 

INSECTS AND THEIR LIFE CYCLE | GRADE 1 - 3

The main goal of teaching children about animal life cycles is to help them understand that not all animals reproduce and grow the same way. Are there any baby butterflies and what are dung beetles? Explore the lifecycle of insects and find out some interesting facts about creepy crawlies.

 

REDUCE REUSE RECYCLE | GRADE 1 - 3

Recycling means collecting and reusing items that would have been thrown away. It is a simple game of saving, matching and sorting. Learners sort, match and compare recyclable items and learn to separate these by numbers and colours.

 

ELECTRIC CIRCUIT | GRADE 4 - 7

An electric circuit is a path in which electrons from a voltage or current source flow. Explore the different components found in an electric circuit and find out about series and parallel connections and where these kinds of connections are used.

 

 

 

DOES MATTER MATTER? | GRADE 4 - 7

Matter is any substance that has mass and takes up space. Everything is made of matter, so any object you can name consists of matter. If it takes up space and has mass, it is matter. What makes matter useful? Explore the properties of different materials to determine their usefulness for particular applications. Learners will also investigate various methods to separate mixtures.

 

HYDRO POWER | GRADE 7 - 9

Hydropower is a form of renewable energy that uses water stored in dams as well as flowing in rivers to create electricity in hydropower plants. Like other forms of electricity generation, hydropower uses a turbine to generate electricity, using the energy of falling or flowing water to turn the blades.

 

ACID MINE DRAINAGE (AMD) | GRADE 8 - 9

AMD refers to the outflow of acidic water from the mining site. Explore acids and bases using various indicators and learn about Acid Mine Drainage. What is it, how does it form and what impacts does it have on our environment?
